Trans Siberian Orchestra Tickets For Sacramento - On Sale Now! Al Pitrelli Talks About Their Very First Show!

September 23, 2019

It's hard to explain Trans Siberian Orchestra to someone who hasn't seen the show.  It has been likened to a mix of The Who’s “Tommy” & Andrew Lloyd Weber with Pink Floyd’s lights. Similarly, The Washington Post described their music as "Pink Floyd meets Yes and the Who at Radio City Music Hall."  These descriptions get pretty close, but neither mentions snow and things catching fire, so....

Since its touring debut, TSO has played over 2,100 Winter Tour shows for more than 16 million fans. Al Pitrelli is a founding member. He is the live musical director and the main lead guitarsit.

And the man can shred.

For many, the holiday season begins when TSO comes to town.  Their 2019 Winter Tour will have them performing an all new version of the "Christmas Eve & Other Stories" rock opera which is based on the triple-platinum album of the same name and follows a story by TSO’s late founder/composer/lyricist Paul O’Neill.   And as always, one dollar from every ticket sold at every show goes to charity.  To date, about $16 million has been donated by the group.

Tickets are on sale for Trans Siberian Orchestra at the Golden 1 Center for Friday, November 29th (a 3pm and a 7:30pm show).  If you haven't made this show a part of your holiday traditions, now is the time.

I hope you enjoy my visit with Al - he does a good job of explaining TSO to those who have yet to experience it. And, he talks about the very first performance, which he remembers like it was yesterday.
