Peter Frampton Then (Day On The Green) and Now (Concord)

October 1, 2019

Peter Frampton's current tour will be his last. His farewell tour has been rolling across the country since mid June and wraps up on October 12th at the Concord Pavilion.

This won't be Frampton's first gig in the East Bay. For those of you who grew up in Northern California, you may recall epic concert phenomenons called  "Day on the Green" where as many as five headliners would play at the Oakland Coliseum for a ticket that, as I recall, cost about $17.  The concerts,  presented by promoter Bill Graham, began in 1973 and continued into the early 1990s.

On July 2, 1977, The Outlaws, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Peter Frampton rocked the East Bay.  Here's a trip down memory lane to that day and Peter Frampton, with that hair, the screaming girls (including yours truly) and that magnetic charisma.

Thanks, for the music and the memories, Peter!
